I'm a C-IAYT certified yoga therapist and certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy practitioner based in Greenville, SC — and I've been teaching yoga since 2006.
But before any of that — I was the woman who gave everything to everyone else and quietly forgot herself in the process. I know what it feels like to stand in your own life and not recognize it. To be exhausted in a way that rest can't touch. To understand exactly what's wrong and still not be able to change it.
I discovered yoga therapy in 2015 — specifically Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy — and for the first time experienced what it felt like not to be told what to do, but to hear what I already knew. That experience changed everything about how I practice and how I teach.
What makes Phoenix Rising different is this: I don't fix you. You already know how. My job is to help you hear what your body has been saying — which, it turns out, is quite a lot.
I have worked with hundreds of women through private sessions, group programs, and my two published books. I see clients in person in Greenville and online anywhere.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you go - a few honest answers
Do I need any yoga experience?
None at all. What we're doing in this training has nothing to do with poses or flexibility. It's body-awareness work — which your body has been doing your entire life. I'm just going to help you tune back into it. The woman who has never been near a yoga mat is often the one who experiences the most in this kind of work.
I'm already in therapy. Is this going to conflict with that?
In my experience, it doesn't — it tends to complement it beautifully. Body-based work tends to open things up that talk-based work can then go deeper with. Many of my clients are actively in therapy while we work together, and several have told me their therapists have noticed a difference. If you have concerns, always check in with your provider.
What if I can't make it live — will there be a replay?
Yes, registered attendees will receive a replay. That said — something happens in a live room together that doesn't happen in a recording. The practice especially. If at all possible, I'd love to see you there in real time.
Is this going to be a sales pitch?
Honest answer: at the end of the training, I will briefly share my course Rest & Reclaim: Nervous System Reset for women who want to go deeper. But the training itself is a full, complete, valuable hour — not a long advertisement. You will walk away with something real whether or not you ever buy anything from me. That's a promise.
I've tried a lot of things. Why would this be different?
Because most of what you've tried has probably worked from the top down — through your mind, through understanding, through managing your thoughts and behaviors. This works from the bottom up. Through your body. Through the part of you that stores what your mind has already processed but your nervous system is still holding. That's a genuinely different door into the same house.
